The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences extends sincere congratulations to Assistant Professors Huang Xiang, Colum Ruane and Li Jiayi, who stood out and achieved honors in the selection of the "CityU Outstanding Teaching Performance Award" for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. Theirawards not only reflect their personalteaching capabilities and professional qualities but also inject strong momentum into the improvement of the faculty's teaching quality, setting an example for all faculty and staff to dedicate themselves to teaching and pursue excellence.

近日，澳門城市大學質量保證辦公室公佈本學年「城大教學卓越獎」評選結果。本屆評選自2025年5月啟動，至2026年2月落幕，嚴格遵循《城大教學卓越獎評選辦法》，通過課堂觀課、師生書面問答、教學歷程文檔審閱及學生教學評價數據分析等核心維度，對參選候選人進行了全面嚴謹的綜合評估。經評審委員會綜合評分與審議，黃祥助理教授憑藉紮實的教學功底與優異成效，榮獲「教學卓越獎」；Colum Ruane助理教授則以創新教學理念與務實實踐，獲頒「最佳教學創新與創意獎」，李加義助理教授憑藉深厚的學術基礎及親和的教學風格，榮獲「新學者教學卓越獎」。這一結果是對三位教授長期深耕教學、恪盡職守、潛心育人的有力肯定。
Recently, the Quality Assurance Office of City University of Macau announced the results of this academic year's "CityU Outstanding Teaching Performance Award" selection. Launched in May 2025 and concluded in February 2026, this selection strictly followed the "Regulations for the Selection of CityU Outstanding Teaching Performance Award" and conducted comprehensive and rigorous assessments of all candidates through core dimensions including classroom observation, written Q&A with teachers and students, review of teaching portfolios, and analysis of student teaching evaluation data. After comprehensive scoring and review by the Selection Committee, Assistant Professor Huang Xiang was awarded the "Outstanding Teaching Performance Award" for her solid teaching foundation and excellent results; Assistant Professor Colum Ruane was awarded the "Best Award for Teaching Innovation and Creativity" for his innovative teaching concepts and practical practices; Assistant Professor Li Jiayi was awarded the "Teaching Excellence for Junior Academics" for her solid academic foundation, approachable teaching style and outstanding teaching achievements as a new scholar. This result is a strong recognition of the three academics' long-term dedication to teaching, due diligence, and commitment to educating students.

I am honoured to receive the award for Innovation and Creativity in Teaching. I’d like to thank the selection committee for their work in deciding the final winners – I’m sure all the candidates were excellent. I also appreciate the administrative staff and fellow professors in FHSS whose support and work make our programmes run successfully. I am always looking for ways to encourage student learning and engagement with the material, so I want to recognise my students in the English Studies and Applied Linguistics programmes for their hard work and participation. Thank you for being part of my CityU journey so far.
