Dear students,  

Welcome to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at City University of Macau!

This faculty is one of the biggest faculties in the university with the largest number of teaching academics.  

As you know well, there are two core elements in any higher educational organization: teachers and students. You will be pleased to know that the academic staff from lecturers to professors in this faculty are all highly qualified who have special expertise in teaching the courses you are receiving; they apply their research into teaching so that you receive the most current development of knowledge, creative and critical thinking, and skills for your degree programmes. More importantly they are all passionate about their teaching and research, as well as caring for students - our faculty office staff members are always ready to offer you a helpful hand and support. So, we are here, prepared to facilitate your abilities and develop your talents for your success while you are with us, and to provide knowledge and skills to you for your future development.  

Now, a really important part is that: your success relies on your own vision and on your own efforts. You are expected to work diligently and intelligently; ask for help when you need it; and collaborate with your peers. We all strive to establish mutual understanding and respect among all staff and students.  

Finally, please notice how Macau has particular richness in multilingual and multicultural resources. While you are studying in Macau, use your time well to visit different parts of Macau, to experience diversity and variety, and try to serve the local community if possible. Enjoy your time with us. Open up all your horizons. Extend your vision!
