On September 17, 2020, the Foreign Language Education and Research Center successfully held the A.I Enabling University Teaching Development Forum in City University of Macau. The forum invited Mr. Zhenghua Li, the manager of Education Guangdong Region of IFLYTEK Co., Ltd., and Mr. Chunbin Liu, general manager of WideBox. Professor Zhong Wang—Executive Associate Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Associate Professor Dr Daibo Xiao—director of the cultural industry graduate program, and Associate Professor Dr Hu Bo—director of the Foreign Language Education and Research Center attended the forum.

During the forum, Dean Wang briefly introduced the overall situation at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the characteristics of the language courses. Afterwards, Mr. Zhenghua Li introduced the IFLYTEK system, its background, application areas and product system, and proposed to invite our university and other universities in the Greater Bay Area to hold scientific seminars or academic seminars. Mr. Chunbin Liu pointed out that the relevant business of IFLYTEK is developing smoothly in Macau, and it can cooperate with our university in many aspects. Director Hu Bo proposed to use the IFLYTEK system, based on the existing foreign-language smart-classroom laboratory, to empower foreign language teaching through artificial intelligence (A.I), and to explore the possibility of school-enterprise cooperation in many aspects. Director Xiao Daibo proposed the possibility of cooperation between the cultural industry and IFLYTEK, in the fields of film and television and cultural communication. Finally, Dean Wang pointed out that the IFLYTEK system can provide great help to the language courses. She thanked the two guests for their detailed introduction and support to the system, and hoped that there will be more cooperation and exchanges in the future.
