We are delighted to announce the inaugural “Stand-Up CityU” English Stand-Up Comedy Competition at FHSS, City University of Macau. Here is your opportunity to demonstrate your hilarious comedy skills and be crowned the university’s funniest student.

We anticipate that the preliminary selection and final competition will take place on November 15th and 29th, 2023, respectively.

Requirements for registration:

• Applicants must be currently enrolled at City University of Macau and have an understanding of the culture of stand-up comedy;
• The performance must be composed of original English material without visual aids, be between 3 and 5 minutes in length during the preliminary selection, and between 8 and 10 minutes during the final competition;
• Please ensure that your material is appropriate for a general audience and do not include content that pertains to racial issues, regional discrimination, gender prejudice, etc;

We are looking for students who are interested in participating. Please let us know your name, student number, email address, and the title of your comedy or a brief description of it before 11:11 of 11.11 (11th November) by scanning the QR code below or by clicking here:

Arrangements for the preliminary selection on 15th November will be emailed to you. About ten of the successful candidates will advance to the final competition and compete for the grand prizes.
