"Macau’s Higher Education Collaboration with Portuguese-speaking Countries: Mutual Goals and Challenges"

The Symposium "Macau’s Higher Education Collaboration with Portuguese-speaking Countries: Mutual Goals and Challenges" organized by FHSS, with the sponsorship of the Macau Foundation, was held on October 23, 2024, at the City University of Macau in L209. The session was conducted by Professor João Simões from the Institute for Research on Portuguese-speaking Countries, City University of Macau. 

 

Prof. Ana Maria Correia from the University of Saint Joseph presented a paper entitled "The Algorithm in the Room." Prof. Francisco Leandro from the University of Macau discussed "Rethinking the Future of Higher Education." Prof. Rochelle Ge, the Dean of the School of Education at the University of Saint Joseph, introduced the topic "Intensifying Higher Education Collaboration between Macau SAR and PSCs: Supporting System and Strategic Implications." 

 

Then, Prof. André Luiz Reis da Silva from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, addressed "Macau's Strategic Position for Academic Cooperation with Portuguese-speaking Countries: A Brazilian View." Prof. Fátima Chimarizeni Papelo from the Universidade Joaquim Chissano, Mozambique, presented her research and views on "Mozambique's Higher Education Collaboration with Macau: Exploring Patterns, Challenges, and Future Perspectives." 

 

The audience, primarily composed of Master’s and Ph.D. students, engaged in a lively and fruitful discussion.
