Professor Wang Zhong led the postdoctoral team to win the National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition

The 2nd National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition recently concluded in Yantai, Shandong Province. After a rigorous selection process and intense competition, a team of seven doctoral and postdoctoral researchers led by Professor Wang Zhong, including Zhao Jing, Zhou Huaqing, Bai Yiyuan, Zheng Womeiru, Qin Can, Zhou Lei, and Zhou Min, won the National Merit Award in the Outbound Competition. Among the seven team members, five graduated from City University of Macau's Cultural Industry Research Doctoral Program, and one graduated from the Urban Planning and Design Doctoral Program. They are currently engaged in teaching and research at universities in Zhengzhou, Fuzhou, Beijing, Nanchang, and Shenzhen.

The National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is the largest, highest-level, and most comprehensive national postdoctoral event in China. Organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the People's Government of Shandong Province, the competition attracted 6,206 postdoctoral projects and 25,000 participants. After preliminary selections and national semifinals, 1,530 teams from prestigious institutions such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Fudan University advanced to the national finals.

The competition aligns closely with the development philosophy of the new era, under the theme "Wisdom Empowers Development, Innovation Leads the Future." Professor Wang Zhong's team project, titled "Research and Development and Promotion of Macao's Cultural and Creative Industry Innovation System in the New Era," was guided by Vice President Professor Ip Kuai Ping as the general advisor. Academic advisors included Professor Xiang Yong from Peking University, Professor Zhou Jianxin from Shenzhen University, and Professor Wei Pengju from the Central University of Finance and Economics. Mr. Hu Tat Chung, Chairman of Macao New Zhongcheng Group, and Mr. Wang Rui, Chairman of A-Ma Culture and Creative Technology Company Limited, served as consultants for the project's results transformation. The project introduces ecological niche theory into the cultural and creative industry, aiming to organically combine the economicization of culture and the culturalization of economy, thereby providing new momentum for Macao's cultural and creative sector.

City University of Macau has been actively exploring and advancing doctoral programs aimed at cultivating high-level innovative talents, achieving significant results. The prestigious award won by Professor Wang Zhong's team is an excellent reflection of the high-quality doctoral training provided by the university. This accomplishment not only highlights the team's innovative capabilities but also underscores the university's commitment to fostering excellence in academic research and industry application.
