The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences hosted the first FHSS Talent Show at CityU's Cultural Centre on March 19, 2025. This vibrant event celebrated student creativity, linguistic diversity, and cultural richness. The stage came alive with 15 unforgettable performances, featuring soulful singing, electrifying dances, and instrumental fusions in multiple languages, including English, French, Mandarin, and Portuguese.
The day began with opening remarks from the Dean of FHSS, Prof. Jin Lixian, who expressed heartfelt gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the students, as well as the behind-the-scenes efforts of the staff. She emphasized the importance of such events in fostering a vibrant learning environment and looked forward to many more celebrations of talent in the future.
All performers were from FHSS academic programs, including bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students, as well as their friends from other faculties. The audience enjoyed a lively array of acts, each highlighting the linguistic and cultural diversity that makes FHSS unique.
At the conclusion of the event, the audience participated in voting to select three special awards for this talent competition. The awards were presented by Vice Rector, Prof. Han Wei of City University of Macau, Dean Jin Lixian, and Associate Dean Huang Guowen, who served as the award presenters. This event not only provided students with a platform to showcase their talents but also promoted cross-cultural communication and understanding, further strengthening the multicultural atmosphere of the college.
