The Macao-wide English Essay Competition 2021, organized by Macau Speech Professionals Association, has announced its winners. Although the contest is very competitive, Chiang Guo Judy, from the Faculty of Innovation and Design at CityU, won the first prize. Chen Ruo Xuan (Faculty of International Tourism and Management), Chen Yan Zi (Faculty of Business), and Li Yi Ying (Faculty of Business) won the third prize. Four CityU students, including Deng Shu Min, Ma Ming Yao, Yang Yan Yu, who are from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Luo Yuxi (Lucy Law), who is from the Faculty of International Tourism and Management, received Honorable Mention awards.

    The Macao-wide English Essay Competition provides a platform for young, ambitious students to exercise their critical thinking skills by exploring their role in the world. It enables students to learn about United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that were designed to be a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. The theme of this competition is: “The Change I Want to Make.” It encourages students of all levels to take the responsibility of world citizens, to enrich their studies, and to contribute to the future.
