On September 27, 2025, the final results of the 2nd International Chinese Language Education Case Competition for Postgraduates were officially announced. The "三角智鼎 Triangle Wisdom Trio" team, composed of Applied Linguistics master's students Zhang Siyu, Liang Yiyun, and Jin Wenqi from our faculty, under the guidance of Assist. Professor Liu Junmin, stood out in the Hong Kong and Macao division with their outstanding case design and on-site performance, earning the second prize in the competition.
This year's competition attracted outstanding postgraduate students from numerous universities, making the competition fierce. In the preliminary stage, the FHSS team's case successfully advanced to the Hong Kong and Macao division finals after multiple rounds of review by the organizing committee, recognized for its unique perspective and solid professional foundation. During the final round, the team competed against other outstanding teams from Hong Kong and Macao, ultimately winning the judges' approval with their clear logic, innovative solutions, and fluent presentation, achieving the excellent result of second place (second prize) in the division.
Student Reflections:
Zhang Siyu:
As a student of Applied Linguistics, how to bring professional knowledge out of the classroom and integrate it with the needs of the times is a question I have constantly pondered. This competition provided us with a valuable practical platform, allowing us to transform learned theories into feasible teaching plans. I sincerely thank the faculty for this precious opportunity, enabling us to grow through practice. A special thanks to Professor Junmin for her meticulous guidance; her rigorous scholarly attitude and detailed suggestions pointed us in the right direction. I also want to thank my "Triangle Wisdom Trio" teammates for our intelligent collaboration; those nights we spent staying up late revising and iterating together built this achievement. This experience has strengthened my belief that the value of Applied Linguistics lies in building a bridge between theory and practice. We will continue to uphold this original intention and move forward steadfastly on the path of promoting the international dissemination of Chinese.
Liang Yiyun:
I am deeply honored to have achieved excellent results in this competition and extend my heartfelt thanks to Professor Liu Junmin for her careful guidance and suggestions. When our case was presented at the competition and we saw the judges affirm our use of digital-intelligent tools for immersive cultural teaching, I profoundly realized that our generation of students stands at the forefront of educational transformation. We are no longer merely learners of traditional teaching methods but are explorers and builders of digital-intelligent teaching. This process was full of challenges, but it was precisely these challenges that drove us to proactively learn new technologies, embrace new concepts, and transform our passion for Chinese education into the innovative ability to solve practical teaching problems. This experience has convinced me that, armed with the "new oars" of digital-intelligent technology, we can surely better navigate the future ship of International Chinese Language Education.
Jin Wenqi:
The theme of this competition, "數智賦能教學,中文聯通世界" was vividly embodied in our case design and presentation exchanges. During the competition, when I saw other teams also using digital-intelligent tools to create brilliant cases that connect Chinese and foreign classrooms and promote civilizational dialogue, I became even more convinced that the connotation of "connection" goes far beyond technological links. It is also about resonance of hearts and mutual learning between cultures. Our cases are like miniature digital bridges, with curious and well-intentioned young people from around the world on both ends. Through this competition, I have not only enhanced my case design and research abilities but have also undergone a globalization upgrade in my personal perspective. I thank the faculty for this opportunity, especially Professor Liu Junmin for her companionship and encouragement throughout the process, and I thank my teammates for our collective struggle. Let's continue moving forward!
