[Cultural Industries] Team Achieves Success at International and Domestic Academic Conferences

Recently, the Cultural Industries Management research team from our college has achieved significant academic results, making notable appearances at the 6th International Conference on Culture-Oriented Science and Technology (CoST 2025), the 2025 Seminar on Cultural Tourism Economy for Young and Middle-aged Scholars, and the 7th "New Era Cultural Innovation Forum". Multiple research outcomes were included in the conference proceedings, received awards, and were invited for special session presentations, demonstrating the team's solid foundation and innovative vision in the interdisciplinary field of "Digital Technology + Cultural Management", which has garnered high attention from academic peers.

I. Presence on the International Stage: Blockchain Research Output Authoritatively Included

On September 20, 2025, the 6th International Conference on Culture-Oriented Science and Technology (CoST 2025), hosted by Lanzhou University of Arts and Science and Shandong University, was grandly held in Dunhuang, Gansu. As an authoritative international academic annual conference initiated by the National Cultural Science and Technology Innovation Engineering Overall Expert Group, this event gathered nearly 200 experts and scholars from China, the UK, Japan, and other countries.

The paper titled "Blockchain-Powered Ticketing Ecosystem: A Scalable Framework for China's Performance Market", authored by Professor Ming Ma and Dr. Zhuoling Xie, underwent rigorous review, was included in the conference proceedings, and selected for IEEE indexing. This research innovatively proposes a non-cryptocurrency consortium blockchain ticketing system for China's performance market. By integrating NFTs and smart contracts, it achieves transparent management of the entire ticketing process. Utilizing digital RMB payments and AI risk control, it provides a forward-looking and practical technical solution to eradicate ticket scalping and promote the healthy development of China's performance ticketing market.

II. Focusing on the Cultural Tourism Economy: Digital Transformation Research Awarded 'Excellent Paper'

From October 11 to 12, 2025, the "2025 Seminar on Cultural Tourism Economy for Young and Middle-aged Scholars", hosted by the Central Institute of Culture and Tourism Administration and other institutions, was held in Wuyishan, Fujian.

The paper "技術賦能、藝術創新與體驗增值:我國表演藝術組織數字化轉型困境與路徑 (Technology Empowerment, Artistic Innovation, and Experience Value-Added: The Dilemmas and Pathways of Digital Transformation for Performance Arts Organizations in China)", co-authored by Professor Ming Ma and Dr. 紀政雪子, stood out among numerous submissions and was awarded "Excellent Paper" by the conference. The authors presented their work in the sub-forum on "文化旅遊新質生產力與高質量發展(New Quality Productive Forces in Cultural Tourism and High-Quality Development)". The research directly addresses the practical challenges faced by Chinese performance arts organizations in their digitalization process. Drawing on global case studies of performing arts organizations, it innovatively proposes pathways to overcome these challenges by leveraging digital technology to drive innovation across the entire theatrical arts process and using high-quality content to enhance user experience. Its forward-looking perspective and solid argumentation sparked lively discussions among attending scholars.

III. Invited Keynote Speech: Sharing Cutting-Edge Insights on the 'Digital Theatre Revolution'

From October 10 to 12, 2025, the 7th "新時代文化創新論壇(New Era Cultural Innovation Forum)" was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong. This forum was jointly organized by the Editorial Department of "文化創意產業(Cultural and Creative Industries)" from the Renmin University of China Copying Materials Center, the "深圳大學學報(Journal of Shenzhen University)", and other authoritative academic journals. Professor Ming Ma was invited by the conference committee to deliver a keynote speech sharing his latest research, "數字戲劇革命:技術驅動的舞臺變革、成本困境與全球實踐突圍(The Digital Theatre Revolution: Technology-Driven Stage Transformation, Cost Dilemmas, and Breakthroughs in Global Practices)". This research provides an in-depth analysis of the profound transformations technology brings to stage arts. Addressing associated practical challenges like high costs, it proposes feasible breakthrough strategies through global practice cases, offering important theoretical references for cultural innovation in the new era.

Fostering Growth through Academic Exchange, Continuing Deep Cultivation at the Forefront of Cultural-Technological Integration

The consecutive participation in multiple high-level academic conferences and the attainment of fruitful results have fully honed the academic exchange and frontier insight capabilities of our Cultural Industries research team. A series of research projects focusing on the application of digital technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and digital theatre in cultural management not only demonstrate the team's profound accumulation in the interdisciplinary field of "Digital Technology + Culture" but also reflect our active response to the national strategy for cultural digitalization and Macao's development as a City of Performing Arts. The team is committed to promoting the high-quality development of the cultural industries through innovative research.

In the future, the team will continue to focus on the innovative application of digital technology in cultural management, actively respond to the national strategy for cultural digitalization and Macao's development as a City of Performing Arts, and strive to produce more results with theoretical depth and industry value, contributing academic strength to promoting the high-quality development of the cultural industries in the Macao region.
