[MAL] Team Wins National Bronze Medal in China International College Students' Innovation Competition

Recently, the finals of the China International College Students' Innovation Competition (2025), renowned as the "Olympics" of Chinese higher education, were held at Zhengzhou University in Henan Province. The competition is directly organized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and is one of the highest-level, most influential, and most comprehensive innovation events in the field of Chinese higher education. Its authority and credibility are widely recognized by universities across the nation, and it is explicitly classified as the top "A+ Category" national-level competition.

Students from the City University of Macau performed exceptionally well in this A+ category top-tier event directly organized by the Ministry of Education, returning with honors thanks to their outstanding innovative capabilities and comprehensive strength. Among numerous excellent projects, the project "鏈合智造——多品牌工業機器人協議轉換與全流程協同控制技術 (Chain-Integrated Intelligent Manufacturing – Multi-Brand Industrial Robot Protocol Conversion and Full-Process Collaborative Control Technology)," led by Wang Tianchi, a second-year Master's student in Applied Linguistics from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and supervised by Professor Zhang Haomin, stood out amongst many top national science and engineering projects to win the National Bronze Medal. This achievement marks a historic breakthrough for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in a competition of this caliber.

The project originated in Jiangsu, is based in Macau, and is developing in the Greater Bay Area utilizing the platform of the "澳門城市大學吳在權創業就業中心 (City University of Macau - Ung Choi Kun Entrepreneurship and Career Centre)." The project has already signed cooperation agreements with several companies, including 鑫輪車輛製造有限公司 (Xinlun Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd). Team members possess over ten utility model and invention patents, with three additional patents pending.

What is particularly noteworthy is that the core members of the project come from the humanities and social sciences fields. They embraced the challenge, proactively crossed disciplinary boundaries, and skillfully integrated AI technology with their solid undergraduate foundations, alongside the critical thinking and research methods cultivated within our Faculty, to successfully solve practical problems in the industrial manufacturing sector. This achievement is not merely an award; it is a vivid demonstration of our university's educational philosophy of "文理融合、跨界創新 (Integrating Humanities and Sciences, Fostering Cross-disciplinary Innovation)." It fully proves the exceptional exploratory enthusiasm and comprehensive problem-solving abilities possessed by humanities students.

This award represents a significant milestone for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in promoting interdisciplinary innovative talent cultivation. It demonstrates that the critical thinking, complex problem-solving skills, and humanistic foundation imparted by the humanities are invaluable assets for driving future technological innovation and social progress. We look forward to more students stepping onto national and even international competition stages in the future, achieving further successes, and showcasing the unique educational excellence of City University of Macau's humanities and social sciences.
