Laboratory Introduction
The Interpreting Laboratory and Language Laboratory underwent a construction cycle of approximately two years, from needs analysis and planning initiation, through professional design and rigorous bidding processes, to their official launch in August 2024. The construction process included simultaneous completion of infrastructure renovation and upgrades (including space optimization, electrical system enhancement, network cabling, etc.). Following hardware installation, advanced equipment setup and professional software deployment were carried out. The Faculty conducted continuous testing and optimization throughout, while providing complementary teacher training to ensure efficient facility utilization. Completing these two laboratories not only significantly enhances the Faculty’s hardware capabilities but also supports innovative teaching methods and curriculum optimization. The advanced learning environment they create demonstrates the University’s commitment to cultivating high-quality language professionals and builds a solid foundation for students’ career development and academic advancement.
Interpreting Laboratory
The facilities primarily include a teaching system, examination system, simultaneous interpretation conference system, remote teaching system, chairperson and interpreter touchscreen devices, among others. Through professional equipment and software for real-time translation training, the laboratory can enhance students’ response speed and translation accuracy, help students practice consecutive interpreting to improve memory and translation techniques as well as effective note-taking skills, and help students develop adaptability and psychological resilience in high-pressure environments. It provides simulated real conference scenarios, allowing students to practice interpreting skills in practical application environments. The software can record and analyze student performance to provide detailed real-time feedback and improvement suggestions. Through repeated practice and immediate feedback, students can significantly improve translation speed and accuracy while comprehensively enhancing multiple skills, including listening, speaking, memorizing, and translation.
